Dr. Rosalind Lewis Tompkins: Apostle of Hope and Catalyst for Global Change
Dr. Rosalind Y. Lewis Tompkins, affectionately known as the ‘Hopeologist,’ is a pioneering force in personal empowerment and social transformation. With a career spanning decades, she has dedicated her life to bringing hope and positive change to individuals and communities worldwide.
A proud alum of Florida State University, Dr. Tompkins earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work, reflecting her commitment to societal betterment. Her early career as an addiction professional laid the foundation for her most impactful work: founding Mothers In Crisis, Inc. in 1991. Under her visionary leadership, this 501(c)(3) organization became a beacon of hope to those struggling with addiction.
As President of Mothers In Crisis, Inc., Dr. Tompkins has impacted tens of thousands of lives, driving transformative change in communities. Her influence extends far beyond her organization; she played a pivotal role in establishing April as a nationally recognized Month of Hope through the National Day Calendar, solidifying her brand of Hopeology as a cornerstone of societal well-being.
With a Doctor of Divinity and a Doctorate of Humanities, Dr. Tompkins’ work spans continents, establishing churches, and aiding communities in Africa, Asia, and beyond. An accomplished author, life coach, poet, apostle, and media personality, she founded the Hopeologist® Academy and continues to inspire through her books, podcasts, and outreach.
Dr. Tompkins is also the founder of Turning Point International Church, — the Chapel of Mothers In Crisis, as well as the founding apostle of Turning Point International Alliance, which encompasses ministries and churches across Africa and Asia.
In addition to her humanitarian and spiritual work, Dr. Tompkins is a dynamic entrepreneur as she is the author and practitioner of the “Practice of Hopeology.”

**Through Hopeologist® services Dr. Tompkins is currently leading the Hope Campaign globally to promote the public awareness of hope through public advocacy. This is accomplished through the Practice of Hopeology.
Dr. Rosalind Tompkins created the Practice of Hopeology based upon her formal education at Florida State University in the world-renowned Social Work Department graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree, and her professional experience in founding and leading Mothers In Crisis, Inc. in 1991, where she helped tens of thousands of families to overcome crises of various kinds including addictions. This was done all through the power of hope. In addition, her personal experience of overcoming and maintaining recovery from various addictions for well over thirty-five years, has informed and led her to create a mechanism and means to harness the power of hope.
